How to sell CS2 skins
What buyers of CS2 skins ask first, how the handover works in this game, how to price it, and what can go wrong. Escrow on every order; you receive exactly the price you set.
CS2 skins are the most liquid items in gaming and the easiest to sell badly. The Steam Market price is a wallet-funds price and cannot be cashed out; a cash sale pays below it. A listing here is for the seller who wants money rather than balance, and what it needs is precision: float, pattern, stickers and placement, because the buyer will check every one.
What buyers ask first — and what the listing must say
- Float to the fourth decimal and the wear tier.
- Pattern index for skins where it matters — Case Hardened, Marble Fade, Doppler phases — and the pattern tier if you know it.
- Stickers with placement and condition; scraped stickers subtract, the classic holos add.

How the handover works
- After payment the buyer's trade link appears on the order page; you send the trade offer there and nowhere else.
- The buyer accepts the offer and confirms delivery.
- You do not need to own CS2 — skins live in the Steam inventory like any Steam item.
Every order here runs through SmurfGuard escrow, in the same five steps:
- The buyer pays. The money goes into SmurfGuard escrow — not to you, not to us.
- The order appears in your seller cabinet at /seller/orders with everything the buyer gave: character name, trade link, or the access for a piloted order.
- You hand over — in game, by trade offer, or with the account — and mark the order delivered on that page.
- The buyer confirms. Your share moves to hold.
- It stays on hold until the warranty window ends, then lands on your balance.
How to price it
- Start from the market chart and subtract the wallet-to-cash gap; for liquid skins that gap is the whole difference.
- For rare patterns and sticker crafts the chart is a floor, not a guide — price against comparable crafts.
- A skin on trade hold sells at a discount for the wait.

What can go wrong
- Every skin scam is a variation of two mistakes: sending an offer before the order is paid, or sending it to a link that is not on the order page.
- A trade ban or a VAC ban on the account makes the inventory unsellable; check before listing.
What you receive
The commission is 0%: you receive exactly the price you set — not the price minus a percentage, not the price minus a transaction fee, not the price minus a withdrawal charge. There is no listing fee, no monthly fee and no seller rank that unlocks a better rate later. The hold is not a fee either: it is what makes a buyer willing to pay a stranger before receiving anything, and it is released the moment the warranty window closes.
Every new listing goes through moderation before it reaches the storefront. The check is about the listing being accurate — the details above, stated plainly — not about you proving anything.
Seller ranks
Your store carries a rank badge — New, Rising, Top or Elite — computed from confirmed sales, rating and reviews, and recomputed after every sale and every review. It changes nothing about the fee, the hold or the warranty: it is what buyers see next to your name on every listing, and one of the ways they can sort a shelf. Why not just sell on the Steam Market?
You can, and the number is higher on paper. It lands in your Steam wallet and cannot be withdrawn. Here you get money, at a cash price, with 0% commission.
How long does a sale take?
Payment is immediate; the trade offer takes a minute; the buyer's confirmation is usually the same day. The money then sits on hold until the warranty window ends.
Do stickers really change the price?
Katowice 2014 and 2015 holos on the right placement can exceed the skin's own value. Most modern stickers add nothing.
What about a skin on trade hold?
List it and say so; the buyer waits for the hold to end. Expect a small discount.
