Why is an Epic account so much cheaper than a Steam one?

Because the Epic copy of Dead by Daylight was given away, so the licence on an Epic login cost its first owner nothing; a Steam licence was bought. It is the same game either way — the store is the difference, and the shelf prices it.

What is a «legacy» account?

One holding the legacy prestige cosmetics from the game's first year, which cannot be earned any more. They are rare and almost never on this shelf — what is here is licences and a few played accounts. If a listing claims legacy cosmetics, ask for screenshots of them before anything else.

Can I move the progress to another platform?

Behaviour lets one account's progress be linked across platforms, so what you bought on one store can be played from another once linked. The licence itself stays on the store it was bought on: a Steam account still needs Steam to launch it.

What do «native», «original» and «100%» mean?

That the mailbox the account was registered with comes with it. It is what support asks for when an account is recovered, so an account with the native mailbox is one you can defend; one without is an account the seller could take back.

Bloodpoints level characters and perks and are earned by playing; Auric Cells are bought with money and buy chapters and cosmetics. On the few played accounts here they are the price — millions of Bloodpoints is many hours saved, and Cells are money still on the account.

Does the region matter?

On a Steam licence it decides which store the account sees, and that matters if your own store refuses the game — then an account from a region where it is sold is the way in. Otherwise it changes what adding DLC costs later, not whether the game runs.

Two kinds of listing live on this page. Conta exclusiva is one exact account from a verified seller — you see what you buy. Conta aleatória and named come from the house pool: the guaranteed part is stated, the rest is chance.

Steam or Epic is the price band. Dead by Daylight was given away on the Epic store once, so an Epic login with the game on it is the cheap half of this shelf — the licence cost its first owner nothing. A Steam licence was bought, and it sells for more; it is also where the paid chapters tend to be, because a player who bought the game bought its DLC on the same store. Same game, two prices, and the title says which.

Inside the band, the state of the login: «0 hours» for a licence never launched, «native» or «original» for one whose registration mailbox comes with it, «data change» for one whose details you can move to yours. On a shelf where the goods cost this little, those three words are most of the difference between two listings of the same store — and the whole difference between an account you own and one you are borrowing.

Region is a line to read on Steam licences: an account created in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine or Kazakhstan sees that store's prices and restrictions, and a listing that names the region is telling a buyer from there that the game will run. For everyone else it changes what adding DLC costs later, not whether the game plays.

The played accounts are a different product. Bloodpoints are the currency that levels characters and perks; Auric Cells buy cosmetics and chapters; Iridescent Shards buy the rest; anniversary and event cosmetics cannot be earned again. A listing that states millions of Bloodpoints or thousands of Cells is priced by that stock, and the licence underneath is the smallest part of it.

What a Dead by Daylight listing states, and what each line is worth

The store first. If you already have a Steam library and friends there, a Steam licence is the one to buy; if you play through Epic, or want the cheapest way in, the Epic licence is the same game at a lower price. Filter by store before you compare anything else — the two are priced differently, and a cheap Epic listing next to a Steam one is not a bargain, it is a different band.

Then the state of the login: native mailbox, data change, hours. Those three lines decide whether you keep the account, and on a licence this cheap they matter more than any DLC does.

Third, the region, if you are buying because your own store refuses the game — check the listing's region is one the game is sold in. Otherwise it is a detail.

Last, what is on it. Chapters and editions add in proportion; a played account with Bloodpoints, Cells and event cosmetics is a different purchase, priced by that stock — read the numbers and the screenshots before you compare it with a bare licence.

The account is recovered through the mailbox it was registered with — on Steam by whoever proves the original registration, on Epic the same. A listing without the native mailbox is an account with two owners, and the one holding the mailbox wins. Read that line before you read the DLC.

Behaviour bans by account for cheating, and a banned licence is worthless. «0 hours» is the reassurance on this shelf — a licence never launched has no history to inherit. A played account without a word about its history is a question to ask before paying.

The publisher's terms, like every publisher's, do not provide for selling accounts. What protects you is the mailbox, the password you set and the authenticator you add — Steam Guard or Epic two-factor — plus escrow: the payment is held until you confirm the account opens and the game is in the library.

Change the password, move the email to your own, then add the authenticator — Steam Guard on Steam, two-factor on Epic. Do it before you confirm the order; the confirmation is what releases the seller's money.

Then open the library and check the licence: the game is there, the chapters or edition promised are there, it downloads from where you are, and — if «0 hours» was promised — the clock is at zero. On a played account, open the game and read the Bloodpoints, Cells and cosmetics against the listing.

Then the state of the login: native mailbox, data change, hours. Then the chapters and editions on it, and on a played account the Bloodpoints, Cells and cosmetics with screenshots. Say the region on a Steam licence.
