Genshin Impact is the game with the most-searched codes we track, and the
most-searched question about them is not "which codes" but "how do I enter
one". The answer is short, and so are the reasons a code that looks fine
returns an error.
On the website. Open HoYoverse's official gift page for Genshin, sign in
with the HoYoverse account the game is on, pick the server and the character,
paste the code, confirm. The reward arrives in the in-game mail — open the
mail and claim it, or it sits there.
In the game. Paimon menu → Settings → Account → Redeem Now. Same code,
same result, no browser. The in-game route is the one to use on a phone,
where the website's sign-in tends to fight the app.
Both routes need Adventure Rank 10 on the account. Below that the code is
accepted and the mail never comes, or the field is not offered at all; level
to 10 first, then redeem — the codes do not expire in the hour it takes.
It is a livestream code and the day has passed. Version-preview
livestreams drop three codes each, and they last roughly until the next day.
Every list on the internet keeps them for weeks. If the code is twelve
characters of capitals and digits and you found it on a page dated last
month, it is gone.
It was issued for another server. Snezhnaya works on the Asian
server only; YuanShen works on mainland Chinese servers only and is the CN
twin of the global GENSHINGIFT. A code that returns "invalid" on Europe
may simply belong to a region you are not on. Our Genshin codes page
writes the region next to every regional code for exactly this reason.
It was already redeemed on this account. One redemption per account, per
code — including the permanent ones. A second attempt fails, and the mail from
the first is where the reward went.
A character was mistyped. Codes are case-insensitive on the site but not
forgiving of a wrong letter, and the classic mix-ups are the letter O for a
zero and the letter I for a one. Copy from a page that lets you copy, rather
than retyping from a screenshot.
GENSHINGIFT has worked since launch: 50 Primogems and three Hero's Wit,
once per account, on every global server. YuanShen is its mainland-China
counterpart. Everything else is temporary — some codes announce an expiry
date, most simply stop.
The live list, with rewards and the date we last reconciled it against the
Genshin wiki, is on the Genshin codes page. Where the
wiki does not know a code we say so instead of guessing, and a code the
sources disagree about goes to the expired block — the rules are the same for
every game on the codes hub.
They will not give you a five-star character, a weapon, or Primogems in
banner-sized amounts. Codes add up to a few pulls a version and some Mora.
For the account that already has the roster, the market prices what the
codes cannot: on our shelf, constellations predict a Genshin account's price
far better than the number of five-stars — the breakdown is in
what actually sets the price of a Genshin account,
and the Genshin shelf lists every account with its
server in the title.
