How to Secure an Account Right After You Buy It
Email swap, 2FA, linked platforms and recovery codes — the ten-minute routine that ends the handover for good.
buysmurfThe riskiest window for a bought account is the first hour, and it closes only when the previous owner can no longer get back in. Ten minutes of work ends it. Do them in this order — the order matters more than the steps.
1. Change the password first, the email second
Password first, because it is instant and it kicks active sessions. Email second, because on most platforms an email change sends a confirmation to the old address with a window to reverse it. If you swap the email before killing the session, you hand the seller a notification and a button.
2. Turn on two-factor authentication
Two-factor is what makes the account yours rather than merely in your possession. Use an authenticator app, not SMS — a phone number is recoverable by support, and support is exactly the channel a recovery attempt goes through.
Save the backup codes somewhere that is not the same machine you play on.
3. Unlink everything you do not use
Console links, Google, Facebook, Apple, old platform accounts — every link is a second door with its own key that you do not hold. Remove the ones you do not need. Keep only the login path you control.
4. Check the sessions and login history
If the platform shows active sessions or recent logins, look. A session you did not start means someone else is still in. Sign out of all devices and repeat step one.
5. Do not attach your main payment method yet
Wait until the escrow window has closed. If the order goes into dispute, you do not want a card of yours sitting on an account that may be refunded and rolled back.
What escrow covers while you do this
On this marketplace the payment sits held for 72 hours after delivery, and every order carries thirty days of warranty. That window exists for exactly this checklist: if any step fails — the email will not change, the login stops working, the locker does not match — you open a dispute and the money has not reached the seller yet.
Which is why the ten minutes are worth spending immediately, not next weekend.

The same account at the same specification differs in price by half depending on one field. Here is what each access type means, and why the cheap one is not a scam — until it is unstated.
Buying an account is not a crime in the EU, the UK or the US — but it does break the publisher's terms, and those are two different questions with two different consequences. Here is which is which.
Six things to verify before money moves, and the exact questions to ask. Most of them take under a minute, and each one kills a different way of losing the account.
