The store, before anything else. Console and Microsoft Store copies sit at the top: rare here, and almost always with a character that has been played. Epic copies sit in the middle — many were claimed in the giveaway years ago, so the account is older and usually holds other titles. Steam and plain Rockstar copies are the floor, and that is where most of the shelf lives: fresh licences, no hours, nothing to inherit.

Second, whether the copy is fresh and native. «Native» means the seller created the account and nobody else ever owned it; «no hours» means the game has never been launched. Together they say the account has no history — no previous player, no previous ban, no stranger who might remember a password. On this shelf that is a value point, not a shortcut, and it is what the honest cards on the floor say about themselves.

Third, what is on the GTA Online character — here price and risk climb together. Cash, rank, properties and garages raise the price of a played account, and the honest cards state whether they were earned or added by a modder. A modded balance is the one thing here that can make an account worth less than nothing: Rockstar removes the money, resets the character or closes the Rockstar account, whoever holds it by then.

Edition last. Enhanced is the current PC build and Legacy the old one; on consoles the current-generation version is a licence of its own. «Premium Edition» is the base game with the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack — a head start for Online, not a different game. The edition moves the price less than the store does, but it decides which build you are buying, so read it on the card.

Store first, because the licence never leaves it. A Steam copy is played through Steam, an Epic copy through the Epic launcher, a console copy on that console, and none of them can be moved afterwards. Pick the store you already use, or the one whose account you are prepared to run as a second one; a cheap copy on a launcher you will never open is not cheap.

Then fresh or played. If you are buying the game, take a native unplayed copy from the floor of the shelf: no history, no stranger's character, and on Steam often no Rockstar account yet, so you link your own. If you are buying a GTA Online character, look for the cards that say how the cash and rank were earned, and skip the ones that do not.

Third, the edition. Make sure the card says Enhanced if that is the build you and your friends play on — the two builds do not share sessions on PC — and read «Premium Edition» as the base game with a starter pack, not as a higher tier.

Access last and never optional: full access means the mailbox comes with the account, and here there are two accounts to take over — the store's and Rockstar's. Every card says whether the email is included; without it the previous owner keeps a route back into both.

Rockstar's terms forbid selling or transferring an account, and Take-Two enforces against what it can see: money and rank that were not earned. A modded balance is removed, the character reset or the Rockstar account suspended — and because the ban lives on the Rockstar account, it follows it through every linked store. A clean character on a bought account draws no attention by itself; a modded one is a matter of time, which is why the honest cards here say whether the character is clean.

The second risk is recovery, and here it has two doors. Rockstar Support restores an account to whoever names the original email and the first purchase, and the store has its own process with the same logic: a Steam copy is also a Steam account with Steam Guard and trade holds, an Epic copy an Epic account with its own two-step verification, a console copy a PlayStation or Microsoft account. Full access with the mailbox closes the doors you can close; the first purchase's paper trail is the one you cannot.

Not a risk, though it looks like one: a Steam copy sold with the Rockstar account unlinked is missing nothing. Nobody has ever tied a Rockstar account to that licence, and you tie your own.

Rockstar account first: sign in to Social Club, move the email to your own, change the password, then turn on two-step verification — in that order, because the character and the ban history live on the Rockstar account, and it is the one Rockstar Support looks at. Then the store: on Steam the password, the email and your own Steam Guard; on Epic the same with its two-step verification; on a console the PlayStation or Microsoft account gets the same steps. If the card said the Rockstar account is unlinked, link your own on the first launch instead.

Then open the game and compare it with the card — the edition, the hours and, if you bought a played account, the character's cash, rank and properties — while the confirmation window is open: that is the window in which the seller's money is still frozen.

Listing is free and the seller receives exactly the price they set: the platform's fee is added on top for the buyer, not taken out of your money. What sells a GTA V account is the store named first — Steam, Rockstar, Epic, Microsoft Store, PlayStation or Xbox — then the edition, whether the account is native and unplayed, and whether the Rockstar account is linked. If the character has cash and rank, say how they were earned: a card that states a clean character sells to a different buyer, at a different price.
