Genshin Impact runs on four separate servers, and the choice is permanent: an
account made on one cannot be moved to another. That makes the server the first
thing to settle when you buy an account, before any number on the listing — and
it also makes the price table below the most misread thing on our shelf.
| server | who it is for | daily reset |
|---|
| Asia | South-East Asia, India, Australia, and most of the world east of Europe | 04:00 UTC+8 |
| Europe | Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Russia | 04:00 UTC+1 |
| America | North and South America | 04:00 UTC−5 |
| TW/HK/MO | Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao — a separate Traditional Chinese client | 04:00 UTC+8 |
Two practical consequences hide in that table.
Ping. Your server decides where the game's servers physically are. Playing on
America from Europe works, but co-op and the timing-sensitive fights feel it. If
you are on the wrong continent, no amount of account value fixes that.
The daily reset. Resin, commissions and shop refreshes reset at 4 a.m. in the
server's own time zone. A European player on the Asia server gets a reset at
9 p.m. their time — which some people prefer, and which is worth knowing before
you pick.
The TW/HK/MO server is not just a region: it is a different client build in
Traditional Chinese, on its own release schedule. Accounts there are a niche
product on our shelf, and they are the cheapest by a wide margin — for reasons
explained below.
No. HoYoverse offers no server transfer of any kind. An account is bound to the
server it was created on for its whole life, and the only way to "move" is to
start again. That is why the server sits at the top of every buying decision on
this shelf, and why our catalogue carries a separate slice for each one.
Read that carefully, because the obvious reading is wrong.
The medians differ several-fold, and the tempting conclusion is that Europe and
America accounts are simply worth more. They are not — or not by nearly that
much. What differs between the servers is what is listed on them.
Asia and TW/HK/MO are where the reroll trade lives: fresh accounts at low
Adventure Rank with a stockpile of Primogems, sold cheaply and in volume. Europe
and America carry a much larger share of played accounts — high Adventure Rank,
a deep five-star roster, months of daily play. When you split the shelf by
Adventure Rank and compare servers within a band, the gap shrinks a great
deal. Some of it remains — a played European account does tend to cost more than
a comparable Asian one — but most of the headline difference is composition, not
geography.
The practical version: never compare prices across servers. Pick the server
you need, then compare inside it. An account that looks cheap on Asia is cheap
because it is a reroll, not because Asia is a bargain — and it is no use to you
if your friends are on Europe.
In order:
- Where your friends and co-op partners are. You cannot play with people on
another server. This outranks everything.
- Where you physically are. Ping follows the server, and the Asia server
from western Europe is noticeably worse than the European one.
- When you want the daily reset. Only if the first two leave you a choice.
If you have no friends on Genshin yet and live in Europe, pick Europe. If you are
in Australia, Asia. If you specifically want the Traditional Chinese client — for
the language, or for the earlier event timings some players chase — TW/HK/MO,
knowing the account pool there is small.
Once the server is fixed, the rest of the shelf works as it does for any Genshin
account: the five-star roster decides the price, Adventure Rank confirms how much
was played, and the Primogem balance says how many pulls are still in the
account. All of that is covered in
what decides the price of a Genshin account;
this page is only about the choice that comes before it.
The four slices carry their own live medians, so you can see what a server
actually costs before opening a listing:
A buyer filtering by server never sees a listing that does not name one. On this
shelf that filter is the first thing most buyers apply, so a missing server
halves your audience before anyone reads a word about your roster. Name it in
the first few words, and name it the way the game does — Asia, Europe, America,
or TW/HK/MO.
The price table is read from our live catalogue when the page loads, sorted by
median rather than by listing count, and prints how many listings stand behind
each row. The composition point above was checked by splitting the shelf by
Adventure Rank and comparing servers inside each band; the reset times are the
game's own, in each server's local time zone.
