Honkai: Star Rail uses the same four servers as every HoYoverse game — Asia,
Europe, America, and the Traditional Chinese TW/HK/MO client — and the same
rule: an account is created on one and stays there. There is no transfer. So the
server comes first when you buy an account, and the price table below comes
with a warning.
| server | who it is for | daily reset |
|---|
| Asia | South-East Asia, India, Australia, and most of Asia outside the TW/HK/MO client | 04:00 UTC+8 |
| Europe | Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Russia and the CIS | 04:00 UTC+1 |
| America | North and South America | 04:00 UTC−5 |
| TW/HK/MO | Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao — a separate Traditional Chinese client | 04:00 UTC+8 |
Star Rail is turn-based, so ping matters far less than in Genshin's co-op —
playing on a distant server is entirely workable. What still matters is the
daily reset: Trailblaze Power, daily training and the shop refresh at four in
the morning of the server's own time zone. A European on the Asia server resets
at nine in the evening; whether that suits you is worth deciding before you pick.
And you cannot pick twice. HoYoverse offers no server transfer for Star Rail, so
the server on the listing is the server you will have for as long as you own
the account.
The European row looks several times the Asian one, and most of that is not
the server.
We split the shelf into its two kinds of listing and compared servers inside
each. Among fresh accounts — the reroll trade, a stock of Stellar Jade and
little else — the servers sit within about a dollar of each other: Asia,
Europe and America price a reroll the same. The headline gap comes from the
fact that the Asian shelf is mostly rerolls while the European one is
mostly played accounts, so the two medians describe different goods.
Among played accounts Europe does cost more than Asia, and by more than a
little — and we cannot say from the shelf alone how much of that is the server
and how much is what tends to be on European accounts. So the honest reading is
two statements, not one: a reroll costs the same on every server, and a played
account costs more on Europe. Neither of them is a reason to buy on a server you
do not want to play on.
- Where your friends are, if you use the friend features at all — support
characters and the daily borrow work only within a server.
- When you want the reset. With ping mostly irrelevant, this is the practical
difference between servers for a solo player.
- The client. TW/HK/MO is a separate Traditional Chinese build on its own
schedule; pick it for the language, not for a bargain — the pool there is
tiny.
If none of that pushes you anywhere, the server with the most listings is the
one where you will have the most choice, and that is Europe.
Once the server is fixed, a Star Rail account is priced by its limited five-star
roster and its Trailblaze Level, with the Stellar Jade balance telling you how
many pulls are still in it. The four slices carry their own live medians:
A buyer filtering by server never sees a listing without one. On a shelf where
the servers list such different goods, the filter is the first thing applied,
and a missing server costs you the audience before a word about the roster is
read.
The price table is read from our live catalogue when the page loads, sorted by
median rather than by listing count, and prints how many listings stand behind
each row. The composition claim was checked by splitting the shelf into fresh and played
listings and comparing servers inside each: among fresh accounts the servers sat
within about a dollar of each other; among played accounts Europe stayed dearer
than Asia at the same Trailblaze Level.
