Pattern seed

The number that decides how a skin's texture is placed on the weapon; some seeds are worth many times the base price.

For skins like Case Hardened or Fade, the pattern seed determines how much of the rare colour shows. "Blue gem" Case Hardened seeds and full-fade seeds are priced individually. A listing for such a skin states the seed and, usually, a screenshot of the pattern.
