Roblox accounts get lost more often than any other kind we sell — forgotten
passwords, siblings' phones, a «free Robux» site that took the login. Roblox
Support's own articles are precise about what can and cannot be done, and the
rules are worth knowing before you buy an account as much as before you lose
one. This page keeps to those articles.
A Roblox account is a username and a password. Everything that can get a
lost account back is attached to it, and attached by the owner:
- an email address — verified, and Roblox's help says it is «how we check
to make sure accounts are authentic»;
- a phone number — a second recovery route, used the same way;
- 2-Step Verification — one method at a time: an authenticator app, an
email code or a security key, plus backup codes. Roblox recommends the
authenticator.
Console logins (PlayStation, Xbox) connect to the Roblox account and are
disconnected in its settings; they are doors, not keys. And the rule that
decides most recoveries, in Roblox's words: «Without an email, phone number,
or purchase history there is no way to recover the account.»
Both go through the same Account Recovery door: «Forgot Password or
Username?» on the login page. Enter the email (typed exactly as it is on the
account) or switch to the Phone tab; a reset link or code arrives; if
several accounts share that email, you pick which one to reset. The username
is shown along the way, so a forgotten username is the same procedure. No
email and no phone on the account — the feature cannot help, and support
verifies ownership before changing anything.
If the password reset no longer works because the thief changed the email,
Roblox Support asks for what only the original owner has: the email address
the account was created with, or the credit-card / PayPal purchase details
tied to it. The help page is explicit that this «does not guarantee account
recovery» and that Roblox «is under no obligation to assist users whose
accounts have been compromised»; lost items or Robux come back only «in very
limited circumstances», and you must contact Roblox within 30 days of the
compromise. First steps on their list: clean the device of malware and
extensions, reset the password, turn on 2-Step Verification, and use
Settings → Security → Where you're logged in to sign out every other
session.
Changing the email requires the account password, and the previous
address gets an alert that it changed. That one rule is the whole security
model: whoever holds the password can move the mailbox, and whoever holds the
old mailbox is told. Roblox's advice is to have only your own (or a parent's)
email verified there — «if you put someone else's email address there, they
will receive the password reset emails and can then gain access».
On the web the Account Switcher (gear icon → Switch Account) holds up to
five accounts; it works for users 13 and older, not on accounts with parent
privileges, and the list stays on your device. One line in that article
matters to anyone running alts: if one account breaks the rules, Roblox «may
take action on different accounts that we determine belong to the same user».
There is nothing to set. Roblox detects the account's location automatically
«based on device signals including your IP address», over time, and does not
let you change it by hand; a VPN only makes it inaccurate. The location
decides ads, default settings and which regional build of the app you should
install. If you moved, «allow some time for the system to update». For a
buyer that means the region of a bought account is not a property of the
account — it becomes yours after you play from home for a while.
A moderation notice says which appeal route applies: the Violations &
Appeals page for eligible categories, or the support form with the username
and a short reason; an appeal «does not guarantee the consequence will be
removed». Error 600 is a ban by an experience's creator, not by Roblox, and
support cannot lift it. Deactivation is in the privacy settings and is
undone by logging in; deletion is a data-privacy request through the
support form («Right to be forgotten»), with identity verification, and it
is final.
Everything above reduces to one sentence: a Roblox account is its email,
its phone and its 2-Step method, and Roblox verifies the first owner by the
original email and the original payment card. Three consequences:
- Full access is the mailbox. On our shelf «full access» means the email
comes with the account; with it you change the password, move the email to
your own and set your own 2-Step method. Without it you own a password the
mailbox holder can reset tonight.
- The first owner keeps a key you cannot take. Roblox's proof of ownership
is the creation email or the card that bought the first Robux — data that
stays with the seller after every setting has changed. That is the risk our
warranty covers, and the reason the first month matters more than the first
day.
- Verification and region are not for sale. An age-verified account was
verified with someone else's ID; a «region» is what Roblox infers from your
own IP. Neither is a property you buy.
The price of the account is decided elsewhere — the Limiteds, the Robux, the
offsale items and the registration year, measured in
how much a Roblox account is worth.
This page is only about whether the account can stay yours.
- Log in on your own device, change the password.
- Change the email to yours (it asks for the password), then confirm it
from your mailbox; add your phone.
- Settings → Security: turn on 2-Step Verification with an authenticator
app and save the backup codes; then Where you're logged in → log out of
all other sessions.
- Check the connected console accounts and disconnect any that are not
yours; look at the account location — it is a display, not a setting.
- Keep the order's chat and the receipt: if the first owner tries a recovery
in the warranty window, that is what the claim runs on.
