Smurf account

A second, lower-ranked account used by an experienced player — the origin of the site's name.

A smurf is a fresh or deliberately low-ranked account played by someone far better than the rank suggests. People buy smurfs to play with lower-ranked friends, to practise a new role without risking their main, or to skip the level grind that ranked play requires. On listings the closest words are "unranked", "fresh" and "level 30" — the account has met the game's entry requirements and nothing else.
