Short answer first: Black Knight is one of the few Fortnite skins whose
premium survives a fair comparison. The median Black Knight listing on our
shelf sells for $191.86,
against $41.72 for the median Fortnite account;
the cheapest listing with it is
$90.67 and the dearest
$1,472.48. Right now
91 of the
1 972 live Fortnite accounts carry it. Those
numbers move as stock moves; the
Black Knight accounts shelf is where they come from,
and it also prints the median of accounts without the skin and how the two
groups' lockers compare.
Black Knight was the top reward of the Season 2 battle pass, the first battle
pass Fortnite ever sold, at the end of 2017. You reached tier 70 during the
season or you did not get it, and Epic has never put it in the item shop —
battle pass rewards are the one class of cosmetic Epic has kept out of the
shop consistently. The Black Shield back bling came with it, and most accounts
that have the one have the other.
That makes it a marker as much as a skin: an account with Black Knight was
active in the winter of 2017–18, played enough to finish the pass, and has
survived eight years without being banned or recovered. Buyers pay for the
marker. They also, usually, get the seasons around it — Chapter 1 pass items
that stopped being obtainable at the same time.
Rarity alone does not price a Fortnite skin. Plenty of skins that cannot be
bought sit on cheap accounts, because the account around them is small or the
skin is simply not wanted. The test we apply on every item shelf is whether
listings with the item ask more than listings without it once you account
for the size of the locker — a bigger account costs more for reasons that have
nothing to do with the badge.
Black Knight passes that test: the shelf page shows the two groups holding
lockers of similar size, and the group with the skin still asking a multiple of
the other. Compare that with skins whose premium evaporates once you look at
locker size — the OG skins tier list walks
through several. The reason is demand, not scarcity: Black Knight is the
Fortnite skin people recognise from across the lobby, and it has been the
shorthand for "OG account" since Season 3.

is the account. Three things explain most of it:
- Locker size and the other exclusives. A Black Knight account with the
rest of Season 2 and 3 on it (Sparkle Specialist, The Reaper, Rust Lord)
prices above one where the pass was finished and the account then slept.
- Access type. Full access with the original email is the whole purchase
for an account this old: without it the account stays recoverable by whoever
holds the mailbox. The card states the access type; read it before the price.
- Platform links. A console linked in 2018 that cannot be removed narrows
who can use the account, and the listing says so.

- The locker screenshot: Black Knight and the Black Shield back bling, plus
whatever else the listing names. The badge on our shelf is checked against
the account data, not the seller's text, but the rest of the locker is what
you are paying the spread for.
- Full access and email change. For a 2017 account this is not a detail.
- Bans and warnings on the account — an old account has had time to collect
them.
- The Fortnite account value page for where the whole

today's median and not last season's.
