Picking a name that still works in a year

Short beats clever. A tag people can say out loud gets said out loud — in voice chat, in clips, in the kill feed.
Check it renders. Symbol-heavy names get mangled by anti-cheat overlays and tournament sign-ups, and some platforms reject them outright.
Leave room for the year. Names with a birth year age badly; names with a number that means nothing age fine.
Renames cost. Epic gives one free change every two weeks, Riot charges for it after the first. Decide before you commit.
