Since trading between players was removed from the game, an item lives and dies with the account it sits on. That changed this shelf more than anything else: a Fennec, a Titanium White Octane, an Alpha Boost cannot be bought from another player any more, so an account that has one is the only way to get one outside the item shop's rotation. The specific items in a listing are the price, and the sellers know it — they name the cars first.

The count of black-market decals, by contrast, barely moves the price at all. A listing with forty of them and a listing with ten sell for about the same, because most black markets are common and the ones people want are named individually. Read the names, not the number.

Level matters in two different ways. At the bottom of the shelf, «level 20+» is not a feature — it is the gate the game puts in front of competitive play, and every smurf is past it by definition. At the top, a level in the hundreds says the account was played for years, and those accounts carry the old inventories that make them worth more.

Rank is stated on a minority of listings and only means something next to a playlist: «2v2 Champion 3» is a claim, «gold» on its own is usually a paint colour. A ranked account is bought to skip the climb, and the price follows the tier — a Grand Champion account is a different purchase from a Diamond one.

Decide which of the three things you are buying, because the listings for them look alike and are priced differently. A smurf: fresh, past level twenty, no rank yet — the cheapest thing on the shelf, and the only thing to check is that the starter challenges are done and the email comes with it. A collection: read the items. A ranked account: read the playlist and the tier.

If it is a collection, filter by the item you actually want before you look at anything else. The point of buying an account for its inventory is one or two specific things — the car, the boost, the wheels — and a listing that has forty decals but not the one you came for is not a bargain.

Third, the platform. Rocket League is free on Epic and the account is an Epic login; console play links through it. A Steam copy exists only for players who owned the game before it went free, so nearly everything here is Epic — check the listing says so, and check it says the email is included, because an Epic account without its email is an account you cannot keep.

Last, credits and the rest. Unspent credits are worth exactly what they cost in the shop; a large garage is nice but not what anyone pays for. Between two otherwise equal listings they decide, and not before.

An Epic Games account is recovered through its email. That makes the email the whole purchase: a listing that says «full access» means the mailbox comes with it, and one that does not is an account the seller can take back at will. Read that line before you read the inventory.

The second thing is the link. Console players reach Rocket League through an Epic account linked to their PlayStation, Xbox or Switch login, and an account can be linked to one console account per platform. If the listing's account is already linked to someone's console, you may not be able to link yours — ask, if you play on console.

Psyonix's terms, like every publisher's, do not provide for selling accounts, and a smurf bought to play ranked below your level is the kind of account the game's matchmaking is built to catch. What protects you as a buyer is control of the email and the password, plus escrow, which holds the payment until you confirm the account opens and matches.

Change the password, then change the email to your own, then turn on two-factor authentication on the Epic account. Do it before you confirm the order — the confirmation is what releases the seller's money.

Then open the garage and compare it with the listing: the named items, the level, the rank in the playlist the title claimed, the credits. If you bought a collection, the specific item you came for is the only check that matters; make sure it is the item and not a blueprint of it.

Listing is free and you receive exactly the price you set: the platform's fee is added on top for the buyer rather than taken out of your price. Name the items first — Fennec, TW Octane, whatever you have that people search for — because that is what this shelf is filtered by, and a car named in the title reaches the buyer who came for exactly it. Say the level and, if you have one, the rank with its playlist. Say plainly that the email is included; on an Epic account that line closes the sale.
