Rank first, and the steps are uneven. Third, what sits on the account as currency and cosmetics. Overwatch Coins and credits are spendable value, so the titles state the balance; named skins add roughly what they cost in the shop, except the ones the shop no longer sells, which add whatever a collector will pay.

Level, where the card states one, says how long the account was played and almost nothing about the price: an account with the same rank and a far higher level sells for about the same money. Where it does carry meaning is the smurf shelf, where a low level with the competitive unlock already done is precisely what you are paying for.

Decide first what the account is for, because the two halves of the shelf are different products. To smurf, or to start over on a clean rating, take the unranked shelf: the quick-play unlock is done, nobody has placed, and your own placement matches decide where it lands. To play at a level, take a ranked account — and read the rank as a role, not a badge. Overwatch keeps a separate rank for tank, damage and support; the card carries one figure, and it belongs to one role. Ask which before you assume it is the one you play.

Second, the licence. An account that had the original Overwatch purchased brings the legacy cosmetics and never needed to earn competitive; a free-to-play account has neither and costs accordingly. A title that names League skins or a specific skin is the licence talking — if cosmetics are not why you are here, do not pay for them.

Third, the Battle.net side. The home region — Americas, Europe or Asia — is fixed when the account is created; it sets the shop's currency and which support office answers, while the play region is picked in the launcher, so an account from any home region plays on any server and the ping is yours to check. Then whether a phone number is attached, and whether the free BattleTag change is still unused — titles say so when it is.

Access last and never optional. Full access means the mailbox on the Battle.net account comes with it and you move the email, the password and the phone number yourself. Blizzard's recovery leans on the original email and the proof of the first purchase, and both stay with the previous owner unless the mailbox changes hands — every card says whether it does.

Blizzard's terms forbid selling or sharing a Battle.net account, and enforcement runs along two routes. Support restores an account to whoever proves original ownership — the first email on it and the proof of the first purchase — so a previous owner who kept either has a permanent way back, and full access with the mailbox is what closes it. Bans, by contrast, come from reports: sharing, boosting and throwing are actioned when someone reports them and a reviewer agrees. A smurf that stomps low-rank lobbies collects exactly those reports, and the matchmaker lifts an obvious smurf out of low ranks quickly anyway — which shortens the very thing the account was bought for.

The phone number is the Blizzard-specific lever. SMS Protect ties a mobile number to the account, a fresh account cannot enter competitive without one, and the titles that say «phone verified» mean the number attached is the seller's. While it is, it can receive the text that resets the password, and it is what Blizzard asks for when security details change — so it has to become yours, not just the password. Internet numbers and many prepaid ones are refused; use a real mobile line.

One more thing to weigh before the rank: a ban can land on the Battle.net account as a whole, not only on the game, and whatever else lives on it — another Blizzard licence, the wallet balance — goes with it. In the other direction, whatever the previous owner did in those other games came along. Nothing removes the risk of Blizzard acting on the transfer itself, and no warranty covers it.

Change the Battle.net password, move the email to your own, replace the SMS Protect number with yours, then turn on the authenticator in the Battle.net mobile app — in that order, and the phone step is the one people skip. Open the connections page and unlink any console or Steam profile you do not own. If any of these steps asks for a code sent to a number that is not yours, do it while the order is still open and raise it there — not after confirming receipt.

Then open the career profile and compare it with the card: the rank per role, the level if one is stated, the hero gallery for every skin the title named, the coin balance in the shop. All of it before you confirm receipt, while the seller's money is still held back.

Listing is free, and you receive exactly the price you set: the platform's fee is added on top for the buyer, not taken out of your side. What sells an Overwatch 2 account is stated plainly — the competitive rank with its role, whether the original Overwatch was purchased, the skins by name with League skins first, the coin and credit balances, the home region, and whether the free BattleTag change is still unused. For an unranked account, say that the quick-play unlock is done and no placements were played; that is what «ready for smurfing» means, and it is the phrase buyers on this shelf search for. And be ready to hand over the phone number step: an account whose SMS Protect stays on your phone is lent, not sold.
