Is Steam level 20 high?

Does level come with games?

Steam level 20 or above, read from the account data. That is a high bar here: the median Steam account on our shelf is level 7, and on 6 September 2026 only 23 of 1 544 listings cleared 20. The cut is ours — Steam has no official 'high level' — and it was chosen where the shelf stops being ordinary.
Steam level is earned with badges, and badges are bought with trading cards, years and money spent on the platform. It measures how much an account has been used and decorated, which is a real thing to want — and, on this shelf, not the thing that prices an account.
People search for a high-level Steam account because level is the most visible number on a profile: it comes with a showcase, more friend slots, a bigger profile and the kind of badge wall that says the account was somebody's for years. For a profile that is meant to look established — a trader's, a streamer's, a community's — it is the point.
It is not what the market pays for. On this shelf the median of the 23 level-20-plus accounts was $18, below the $35 median of the level-10-to-19 group, because several of the high-level accounts hold modest libraries — level can be bought with cards for a few dollars, a library cannot.
